This ceremony, which recognizes students who have a 4.0 or higher GPA at mid-semester, will be held April 28, 2017, from 9-11 a.m. Lee Ann is planning this event. Invitations have gone out and certificates have been printed. The board agreed that each senior who has achieved this honor all four years will receive an Ozark Mug. The guest speaker will by Christy Proctor of Chick-fil-A. We need a few more volunteers for this event. PTO Board members, please check your email for the volunteer vacancy list from Lee Ann.

FBLA request:
Ms. Cobb asked if the PTO could contribute toward expenses for 2 FBLA students who have achieved the great honor of traveling to California to attend the National FBLA Convention. These students are fundraising to earn the money needed to make the trip. The PTO Board voted unanimously to contribute $250 to each student.

2017-2018 PTO:
We are asking that all parents consider being an active member of Fike's PTO. We may have officer spots open for the upcoming school year. Please contact Lori Walston or another officer/member to find out more information! You will find names and contact information under the "About Fike PTO" tab on the school website. Current officers, please contact Lori to let her know if you are interested in continuing your role next school year.

Friends of Fike:
It was suggested that next year we try to combine it with a football game instead of another sport.

News from Mr. Holley:
Fike is now the only IB high school in town. Students in the IB program from Hunt and Beddingfield will transfer to Fike in the fall. There will be an IB meeting for all parents and students on May 2.

AP and IB exams will begin on May 1. Most the exams will take place the first 2 weeks in May and some will take place the 3rd week. The first day of end-of-year exams is June 2.

Next meeting: May 11 at noon. We encourage ALL parents to attend! The meeting was adjourned.
