PBIS (Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports) Parent/Student Letter

Dear Parents and Students:

Fike High School has always strived to create a safe and positive environment for all students. In an effort to continue to improve our school climate, staff at Fike High School have worked together to develop a PBIS Plan. The primary goal of the plan is to create a positive school climate that fosters being respectful, responsible, and ready to learn.

The students will be learning about PBIS and what is expected of them throughout the school year. The PBIS team have created the Fike High School Expectations (The Fike Five) to promote the District's School-Wide Expectations: Be Safe, Be Respectful, Be Responsible.

We will display posters around the building and in the buses to continually promote positive behavior. All of the Fike staff will be teaching their students the positive behaviors they are expected to demonstrate at school. Students demonstrating these positive behaviors may be acknowledged/ rewarded throughout the school year.

Please take time to review with your family the positive behavior expectations. Ask your child if they understand the expectations listed. Practice the school-wide expectations at home and encourage your child to be safe, respectful, and responsible.

Working together to promote positive behavior helps increase student achievement and get our students ready for the 21st Century Learning skills. Research shows that when the home and school work together, student learning is more successful. We look forward to an exciting school year full of new learning.
