PROM 2018:  “A Masquerade Ball”

Please read the following information carefully.  If you have any questions, see Mrs. Wheeler in Room 203.

1.  Prom is Saturday, April 28, 2018 from 8:00 pm to 12:00 am at the Wilson Country Club.

2.  All current and past fees must be paid in order to receive a prom ticket.  Fees should be paid to the bookkeeper in the office.  Library fees should be paid in the library.  Please keep all receipts for verification in case you do not receive a prom ticket.  All fees must be paid by April 27, 2018 in order to attend the prom.

3.  Seniors:  Your prom ticket is free if you purchased a ticket last year as a junior.  There will be a form on Google Classroom closer to the date of the prom.  You must sign up for prom in order to receive a ticket.  If your date is a Fike junior, they must purchase a ticket.  If your guest is anyone who does not attend Fike, you must purchase their ticket - even if they are a senior at another high school.  You must also complete a guest application that will be approved by the principal.  Guests must be in a junior or senior homeroom at their school, or already graduated.  The only free tickets are for Fike seniors who purchased a ticket when they were juniors.  If you did not purchase a ticket last year, you will be required to buy one to attend prom this year.  See Mrs. Wheeler for a guest application if your date does not attend Fike.

4.  Juniors:  All juniors must buy a ticket.  If your date is a Fike senior, they should sign up for a ticket on the Google Sheet in Google Classroom.  Your guest must be in a junior or senior homeroom, or older.  See Mrs. Wheeler for a guest application if your date does not attend Fike.

5.  If a junior does not purchase a ticket to attend Prom this year, they will be required to purchase one as a Senior instead of receiving a free Senior ticket.

6.  The price of prom tickets increases the closer we get to Prom.   Tickets go on sale the first day of second semester and are sold until Prom day.  Guest tickets follow the same prices.

January/February - $30

March - $40

April - $50

All tickets can be purchased from Mrs. Wheeler in Room 203 before or after school.  Tickets WILL NOT be sold during the school day.  Do not come to my room during class.

7.  Guests:  Fike students are allowed to bring only ONE guest to prom.  Guest tickets must be bought and paid for by the student bringing the guest.  At prom, you must arrive with your guest.  Guests will not be allowed in if the Fike student is not with them.  Guests must meet one of the following criteria:

    a.  Currently be a junior or senior in high school

    b.  Currently be a high school graduate in college, working, or in the military

    c.  Currently be enrolled in an adult basic education, GED program, or other   schooling or training

If your guest does not attend Fike, you must complete an application for them and buy a ticket.  Applications are available from Mrs. Wheeler in Room 203.  Guest tickets follow the same pay schedule as student tickets.  All guest applications are due by April 13, 2018.  Money is not refunded unless the application is denied.  You must turn in the guest application and purchase a ticket at the same time.  Applications will not be accepted without ticket money.  There will be a limit on guest tickets.  All Fike students can attend Prom, but there will be a limit once we reach maximum capacity for the Wilson Country Club.

8.  Information about ticket distribution will be decided closer to prom day.  You will have to be in school the day before prom in order to receive your prom ticket.  Another student or parent may not pick it up for you.  If you owe fees, you will NOT get your ticket!

9.  The prom is from 8:00 pm to 12:00 am, but you must arrive by 10:00 pm.  No one will be admitted after 10:00 pm.  Coronation activities will take place at that time.  If you leave, you will not be permitted to re-enter.

10.  You and your guest must present a ticket and a photo ID at the door in order to be admitted into the prom.  Remember:  you can only bring one guest and they must arrive with you!

11.  Parents are welcome to visit the prom between 8:00 pm and 9:00 pm.  Parents do not need to dress in prom attire, but we ask that they are dressed nicely.  The dress code for the Country Club does not allow jeans, fatigues, or cut offs.  Shirts must have sleeves and collars.  It would not be appropriate for small children and younger siblings to attend.  Also, please arrange for family members to see you dressed up in your prom attire and take pictures of you before you arrive at prom.   We will be at maximum capacity and ask that parents adhere to these requests.

A final note...take care of all fees, save your receipts, and watch the deadlines on the pay schedule for purchasing tickets and turning in guest applications.  See Mrs. Wheeler in Room 203 if you have any questions.
