Fike Youth and Government (YAG)

Mission/Purpose Eligibility
Sponsored by the YMCA of North Carolina and organized by the YMCA of the Triangle, YAG allows high school students to participate in a complex and realistic reenactment of the legislative, executive and judicial branches of North Carolina government. - 9th - 12th grade students
- membership is limited by YMCA regulation requiring delegations to maintain a 12:1 student/advisor ratio. 
Requirements Meeting Time/Frequency
- Attend twice a month meetings to prepare for the 4-day YAG Conference held each February in Raleigh.  Students participate as legislators, appellate attorneys or as members of the governor's cabinet;
- All students are responsible for yearly dues of $60 which cover transportation to Raleigh for January Pre-conference and February Conference as well as snacks for meetings;
- Conference fees are approximately $480. Some scholarships are available through Wilson Family YMCA.  No student will be turned away because of finances. Parents and/or students should speak privately with Mrs. Galloway if you wish to apply for a YAG scholarship.
Beginning in August, two meetings each month after school in Room 207
